Cape Town Wedding Planner Real Wedding: Sarah & Marcel’s Boschendal Bliss
As Cape Town wedding planners, we love ourselves a gorgeous couple who are just crazy about each other and that’s just what we’re sharing with you today! Our little love story today is about Sarah and Marcel, two beautiful people, one gorgeous wedding. The couple forms the very talented duo behind The Le Sueurs Photography, so they were no strangers to the magic of a wedding day. There was something very special to have seen a normally behind-the-scenes team having their very own moment in the spotlight and what a moment it was to witness.
The two local Cape Town lovebirds tied the knot at one of our all-time favourite venues, The Olive Press at Boschendal. One word – scenery. Just take a look at those breath-taking Franschhoek Mountains! Gets our team of Cape Town wedding planners dreamy every time…every time!
Pic of the day had to be this one, capturing the elegance and raw beauty of the bride on her way down to the ceremony. The shot also highlights the simply stunning bridal bouquet of pure white peonies (our ultimate wedding flower and everyday flower at Nicolette Weddings!) with the soft green olive tree leaves gently bursting through.
The ceremony set up was simple yet perfect. With all the fresh green surroundings, all that was needed was romantic white draping over a four-postered wedding arch and crisp white wimbledon chairs for the couple’s nearest and dearest to sit comfortably and watch them take their forever vows to one another.
There was so much love in the air and our Cape Town wedding planner team stood watching from a distance with pride in our hearts.
The smiles on the faces in this picture just says it all. The feeling was pure joy and happiness as the couple was showered with colourful rose petal confetti taking their first steps as newly-weds through an aisle of their family and friends.
Then it was cocktail hour, and time for some yummy fruity flavoured cocktails…
… and a bit of fun and games on the beautifully manicured rolling grounds just off the veranda of The Olive Press at Boschendal. We love breaking out the lawn games, Boules being an oldie but a goodie! It’s always an easy way to keep your wedding guests entertained while a couple sneaks away to get some photos to commemorate this special day in their lives.
When the couple got the chance to step away from the celebrations of cocktail hour, the skills of Love Made Visible Photography took over and just melted our hearts with what they captured on camera. If one has never seen what true love looks like, this is it right here. The cutest couple ever!
Mandatory photo: the bride and her bridesquad, who all looked so effortless from head to toe with soft makeup and wavy hair that flowed so well with their blush pink bridesmaids dresses, perfectly complimenting the glowing bride, with their wedding peony bouquets in hand.
As the sun began to set, everyone made their way in the direction of the reception, cleverly pointed out by this lovely wooden arrow sign. Another neat tip for a wedding, especially if your guests are not familiar with the venue, have a couple of signs put up to lead them in the right direction whether it be to the ceremony, cocktail hour venue, the bathrooms, or in this case the reception venue.
And Secret Diary strikes again with their unmistakable expertise in wedding stationery by creating a simple yet classic seating chart for guests to find their seats, lovingly draped with olive leaves.
Stepping into the wedding reception venue, eyes were sparkling in the light of hundreds of fairy lights as they feasted on the sight of the soft greens of local olive tree leaves in amongst the endless amounts of imported white peonies.
Look familiar? We saw this all incorporated in one little bundle earlier in the bride’s wedding bouquet. A Cape Town wedding planners dream and another job well done by the team at A Little Thing Called!
Secret Diary also created the perfect dinner menus to match the seating chart and theme of the wedding.
Dinner started off with this amazingly crafted appetizer. Just look at that detail! The standard of culinary cuisine at The Olive Press is simply extraordinary and never disappoints.
Once the last of the formalities were over for the night and something sweet was needed after a delicious dinner, it was time for cake. What a masterpiece it was thanks to Wades Cakes, as usual, and so in line with the wedding cake trends too! We see this use of simple rough icing delicately draped in leafy greens throughout the three cake tiers definitely becoming a new standard option when it comes to thinking about “traditional” wedding cakes, but with a fresh modern upgrade.
Now that the moon and stars were twinkling in the clear night’s sky, the lights were turned down and the music turned up by DJ Dan from Shout Music Company for a party that will never be forgotten.
