Cape Town Wedding Planner Real Wedding: True Opulence at Molenvliet
Today we are reflecting on a truly beautiful wedding we planned and coordinated in the Cape Winelands two summers ago, that was both bold and trendy at the time, but has also stood the test of time and still holds strong and current today.
The bride and groom live in Dubai, but wanted to plan their wedding in sunny South Africa, so needed an experienced Cape Town wedding planner to plan and coordinate their whole wedding from across the globe, and chose Nicolette Weddings for the wedding planning honour.
We chose Molenvliet to host this beautiful Cape Town wedding, as it provided several ideal locations to hold the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, as well as offering luxury accommodation to the bridal couple, and their guests. This wedding venue is also conveniently located in the heart of the Cape winelands in order for international wedding guests to get the most out of their visit to Cape Town, and experience all the beauty that this wine region has to offer.
We also chose to plan this Cape Town wedding with the best possible Cape Town wedding suppliers, and therefore enlisted Something Different to provide the specialist wedding lighting, including the hanging naked bulbs over the tables, and the dance floor chandeliers which we’ll see later on in this post.
Something Different also provided us with all the other hand picked items which brought this wedding vision to life, like the natural wooden tables and chairs, cutlery, glassware, and these fabulous suede pink chairs for the sweetheart table.
Of course we also needed incredible flowers to make this an unforgettable wedding, so we worked with floral expert, Fluer le Cordeur, who adorned the wedding reception venue with hanging florals in blush, fuchsia, and rose, over all the tables, as well on the tables.
I particularly loved the bright pink orchids and how the colours worked so well with the wooden tables and chairs.
We always like to plan weddings with a “golden thread” through the whole wedding. This doesn’t mean everything has to match perfectly, it just means that it’s nice to have some continuity throughout the various parts of the wedding. For example, we made sure that the invitations, beautifully designed by the talented team Secret Diary, were a subtle hint of what guests from around the world could expect to see on the wedding day in Cape Town for this luxury destination wedding.
… and how fitting that our bride chose to continue the colour theme with her bright pink wedding shoes.
The Cape Town wedding ceremony was designed with two panels of deep pink and fuchsia roses and orchids as a backdrop.
… which paired perfectly with the beautiful bride’s pink and fuchsia bouquet.
The whole scene came together beautifully with these vibrant and trendy, yet still romantic, colours.
The beautiful bridesmaids helped add a touch of the right colours and textures with their dresses and bouquets.
…as they joined the rest of the guests in cheering while the couple shared their first kiss as man and wife in Cape Town.
The Cape Town wedding ceremony ended as the bridesmaids assisted the couple back to the manor house to sign for their marriage certificate.
Cocktail hour was next and guests were treated to a fabulous setup on the roof of Molenvliet, with panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges and vineyards.
We arranged beautiful lounge pockets for cocktail hour and of course, made sure that the colours included hints of our wedding color palette perfectly.
Cocktails and canapes were served to the wedding party, while top Cape Town wedding photographer, Shanna Jones, led the newlyweds out for some romantic golden hour sunset shots, in order to capture the special memories that were being made at their Cape Town destination wedding.
We love working with Shanna Jones as she captures special moments in time, that are unposed, and totally natural.
The special thing about coming back from your couple shoot, is that the sun has set, your guests are ready to party, and the candles and lighting come alive!
The florals, candles, lighting, and wooden elements came together perfectly for this special celebration.
Even the tiniest of guests took a moment to appreciate the attention to detail that went into planning this beautiful wedding.
A delicious dinner was enjoyed by all, including the happy couple at their special sweetheart table, just for two.
The night ended with some dancing on the custom designed dance floor, fitted with soft white draping around a variety of chandeliers.
This wedding was a Cape Town wedding planner’s dream job, and we loved every minute of the planning, execution, and coordination.
