Cape Town Wedding Planner Real Wedding: Special Day at Beautiful Boschendal
Today I’m writing about a special wedding that I love looking back on, as it was such a beautiful day, with a fantastic couple, at a gorgeous venue.
Hayley and Doug were one of those couples that you just can’t wait to see walk down the ailse and live through their special day that they put so much thought and care into the wedding planning.
Planning their Cape Town wedding from abroad proved easy with these two as they had a clear vision of a beautiful, neutral coloured celebration, surrounded by nature, with their loved ones, and as their Cape Town wedding planner, I was only too happy shape their vision into reality.
This special Cape Town wedding was hosted at one of my favourite venues, Boschendal, in the Cape Winelands. What I love about this venue is pretty much everything: the scenery, the style, the food, the service, and the accommodation, it’s a win win win!
Our beautiful bride, Hayley got ready in the tranquil accommodation on the Boschendal estate, with her bridesmaids.
Hayely and Doug’s wedding ceremony was set up on the upper lawn at the Olive Press at Boschendal, facing the expansive mountain range that surrounds the estate.
The colour and decor scheme we opted for was a romantic, natural look, that highlighted the venue’s natural beauty, while at the same time, celebrating the beauty and importance of the occasion.
We used natural wooden cross back chairs, and a wooden square gazebo with white draping and floral detail.
As a special touch, we also added a beautiful wooden table for our newlyweds to sign for their marriage certificate, with the gorgeous mountain range as a perfect backdrop.
With all these beautiful elements, both natrual and curated, it’s no wonder that the ceremony was beautiful, intimate, and picture perfect!
To celebrate and share their well wishes, guests showered the newlyweds with confetti, ending off the ceremony, and starting the celebrations!
A lively marimba band played vibey music to entertain guests during cocktail hour….
…while the newlyweds were enjoying their sunset photo shoot.
Hayley and Doug’s bridal party also got to join in the photoshoot fun.
After cocktail hour, guests were seated in the reception hall at The Olive Press, which was beautifully decorated in natural tones, with wooden and glass elements, as well as white flowers and foliage.
With such a simplistic colour and decor scheme, we wanted to make sure the tables still had interesting details to catch the eye, so we made use of these beautiful detailed glass underplates.
Once the sun had set and the lights were dimmed, the candle light took over and highlighted the flowers and glass beautifully.
We also made sure to lovingly decorate the beautiful fire place with candles and florals to make sure that no space was left untouched.
My favourite picture moment of any reception is of course the moment all the guests raise their glasses to toast to the happy couple….
… and of course, the most romantic first dance.
