Cape Town Wedding Planner Reflection: Simone & Hagen’s Modern Romance at Molenvliet
For this week’s Cape Town wedding planner blog post, we are featuring one of our favourite weddings of the 2015/2016 Cape Town wedding season, Simone and Hagen’s modern wedding at the stunning Molenvliet Estate.
One of the best parts about being a Cape Town wedding planner, is being exposed to an incredible variety of styles, themes and creativity, and this wedding did not disappoint in any of these categories.
Simone and Hagen’s wedding was hosted by the ever classy and prestigious Molenvliet Estate, situated between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. We have worked with this great venue several times and always enjoy partnering with their fantastic management team and planning an event with such serene and lush grounds to work with.
We also love that the accommodation on site at Molenvliet has incredible views and is the perfect setting for a bride and her bridesmaids to get ready for the big day.
Simone’s wedding flowers and bouquets were created and styled by the fabulous team at Okasie, who did an excellent job of encompassing the modern, yet pretty and feminine look that Simone had envisaged.
Inside the reception venue, two long tables spanned the length of the room which provided a fantastic sense of celebration for all the guests seated together, and were set with rose gold cutlery, gold rimmed glasses, and dinner plates topped with gold foiled menus.
The tables were decorated with a variety of pillar candles in bold square vases, topped with fresh, modern flowers in gold rimmed vases, and finished with white Tiffany chairs.
To complete the overall look of the room, and provide that “WOW factor”, spectacular crystal chandeliers sparkled overhead.
The three-tiered buttercream covered gold and white wedding cake, by Wades Cakes, was an absolute feast for the eyes, and was draped in pink orchids and topped with a custom made gold laser cut Perspex cake topper.
The ceremony was held on Molenvliet’s ceremony lawn and the flowers and décor was kept simple, modern, and pretty with long glass vases standing out of the ground with simple long stem flowers displayed on either side of the white, elegantly draped gazebo.
After the “I do”s were said, the register was signed, and the confetti was thrown, the newlyweds and bridal party led their guests through a vineyard to the venue’s cocktail hour deck where the amazing caterers, Two Chefs, treated guests to mouth-watering canapes.
During cocktail hour on the deck, Simone and Hagen’s guests had a blast posing for photos behind this custom made giant Instagram frame.
Guests also had a chance to find their seat by viewing this incredible custom made vinyl seating chart, displayed on a large window space at the entrance to the reception venue.
Once everyone had taken their seats, the reception started off with a bang as Simone and Hagen’s grand entrance kicked the night off on this stunning high note, as they entered hand in hand and walked across their custom painted gold and white dancefloor, under a breath taking crystal chandelier.
And of course, what good is all of this beauty without an incredible photographer to capture it all? Luckily, VividBlue Photography lived up to their brilliant reputation and wowed us with these stunning images of Simone and Hagen’s beautiful day, co-ordinated by Cape Town wedding planner, Nicci Morris of Nicolette Weddings.
Until next time,
