Cape Town Wedding Planner Reflection: Cape Town’s Hottest Wedding in Whites
We’re so excited to share our own amature pics from one of our biggest and best weddings of last wedding season! Ola and Steven got married at their big fat Greek wedding at the luxurious Lourensford Estate on a sunny day in December 2013. The happy couple’s guests were dressed to the nines and their bridal party attire was as hot as you can get.
For the ceremony, Ola and Steven’s 150 guests were seated on the Lourensford lawn on white Wimbledon chairs, under two floaty white sheets of a street gazebo for shade. The beautiful bride and her bridesmaids arrived in a black Maybach and walked down a 10 meter white aisle carpet down to a beautiful modern white gazebo where her beloved groom awaited her arrival. The gazebo had two large bouquets of white flowers in tall glass vases atop two white plinths, on either side and the scene was incredible! The vast expanse of the green fields behind the couple, which lead on to vineyards and a mountain range in the distance, was breathtaking and we couldn’t think of a more romantic way to marry one’s soul mate.
Cocktail hour included a fun and relaxing mingling of the guests around high cocktail tables, draped with white detailed table clothes and toped with beautiful flower arrangements in silver vases.
Our favorite part about the reception space was the striking, and super fab champagne tower, setup in the center of the dance floor, which was also super fab since it had the couple’s wedding monogram custom designed and displayed across the top of the dance floor.
The rest of the room was just as striking as it was entirely decorated in white. The table clothes, chairs, flowers, candles, stationery and guest favours were all white. For added depth, we used different texutres and matierals such as the embossed all white table clothes, netted guest favour bags, and the use of a variety of white flowers in the arrangements.
The cake was yet another showstopper. A towering 5 tiered red velvet delight, covered in intricate white fondant with detailed piping, guests couldn’t wait to get their hands on their slice, after the couple did the ceremonial cutting of the cake.
We also just loved the delicately detailed stationery on the tables such as the menus and the clear Perspex table numbers. Lastly, we can’t resist mentioning the traditional sugar coated almonds as guest favours which were imported directly from Greece for the big day.
We’d like to thank Ola and Steven for letting us plan their beautiful big day and for being such a fantastic couple to work with in the lead up to their big day. The wedding was truly a Cape Town wedding planner’s dream!
