It’s been a while since we last updated our blog and this only shows how busy we’ve been since the start of a whirlwind wedding season that started last season and didn’t seem to end throughout last year. As Cape Town wedding planners, we’ve had our hands full and then some, but luckily, we just LOVE what we do and the happy couples and beautiful pictures that we were left with after the crazy season has made all the late nights and broken nails worth it. One of the weddings we’d love to share with you (with our own amature pictures) is the beautiful celebration of Jen and Dave’s new union, which took place at Vrede en Lust, in the heart of the Franschhoek winelands, on a day that couldn’t have been more perfect. The décor theme of the day was a striking combination of deep red and white with a simplistic clean and modern edge, which we brought through in the flowers and stationery. We were lucky with this wedding because the bride let us make all the décor calls and it all came together perfectly!
The ceremony was setup on the venue’s bright green and freshly manicured lawn, surrounded by vineyards, with a breathtaking backdrop of the Cape mountains. Guests were seated on white whimbledon chairs and faced a stunning white draped gazebo, paired with two large red and white rose arrangements on either side.
After the ceremony and cocktail hour, guests made their way to the stunning reception room where they were greeted by a striking combination of white, glass, and deep red décor elements. The round tables were covered in crisp white table clothes and surrounded by clear ghost chairs which matched beautifully with the glass under plates and glass votives with tea light candles on the tables. All this glass worked beautifully to accentuate the glass chandeliers that were hung throughout the room, as well as reflect the hundreds of candles and lights adding a stunning, romantic ambiance to the room.
As if we didn’t have enough romance, tall arrangements of fresh deep red roses filled the centers of each table and were accompanied by deep red coloured wine glasses around the tables.
To add some more bold colours to the room, we opted for a black and white dancefloor and added black, red and white stationery to complete the look.
And lastly, the cake was pretty perfection all on it’s own! A three tiered simple white cake, decorated with deep red ribbon and topped with deep red flowers to match.
We loved the colours, décor, and stationery of this beautiful wedding and it left us with a profound sense of pride having designed the entire décor concept for this wedding ourselves, and for being lucky enough to be Cape Town wedding planners.
