The Wedding Planner’s Wedding

Nicci & Wayne Cape Town Wedding Planner (8)

Every now and then, a wedding planner gets to plan her own wedding. For me, this was a mixture of a dream come true, because I finally got to make every single decision and plan a wedding entirely how I wanted to, and a lot of pressure to deal with, as every guest had extremely high expectations to see exactly what a wedding planner’s wedding would be like.

It was such an incredible experience to go through the wedding planning process from a bride’s perspective and gain invaluable insights into what the bride experiences during each step of planning her wedding, and the decisions she is faced with, whether they are financial decisions, religious decisions or even political decisions which affect their families and loved ones.

Luckily, my prior, extensive experience as a wedding planner meant I already had well-established and fantastic relationships with wedding suppliers throughout the industry, that I could call on to entrust with the task of making my big day truly spectacular!

I’m happy to report that spectacular is exactly what we got from our incredible team of suppliers who I’d like to thank here for their excellent work on our wedding day:

Tess Brown for hair and makeup:

Paradiso Flowers for the beautiful bridal bouquets and reception flowers:

Although I’ll admit, us wedding planners had some tricks up our sleeves and we did some of our our stationary too:

And, perhaps most importantly of all, our incredible and hugely talented photographer who captured all these beautiful memories, Lauren Kriedemann:

We can’t thank you all enough for bringing your “A-game” and making our wedding unforgettable!

Overall my wedding day was an incredible experience on so many different levels. I got to marry the love of my life, share a beautiful day with all the people in the world that mean the most to me, and I got to wear a lacy white dress and feel like a princess for a day.

Professionally, I feel I have gained such a deeper level of understanding of what a bride goes through on her big day and this has already proven to be an invaluable insight when supporting my brides on their wedding days, when they need it most. I’m excited to be able to use and grow this understanding for the benefit of all our current and future brides.
