The wedding planner team at Nicolette Weddings is so proud to share the first few pictures from the beautiful and romantic wedding of Melissa and Paul that took place last weekend, on a sunny winter’s day in the Cape Town winelands. We had such a blast planning this special day for such a great couple! While we wait for the professional pictures of the happy newlyweds’ big day, taken by Kathryn van Eck, I thought I’d share some of the pictures that we took ourselves of the décor, which was done in vintage-y, dusty pinks and lilacs. I think it’s safe to say that old-world romance was the theme of the day.
The newlyweds celebrated their big night at their Cape Town wedding venue with their nearest and dearest, seated in the soft glow of candle light, on crisp-white Tiffany chairs at long, rectangular tables, adorned with dusty pink and lilac coloured roses in silver rose bowls and glass vases, draped with strings of pearls in soft shades to match the pastel coloured flowers. To add additional colour to the room, we placed dusty pink serviettes at each setting, topped with a custom designed “Melissa & Paul” thank you card, tied with a white lace ribbon and topped with a miniature pink rose.
A fairylight waterfall was the focal point of the room and highlighted the head table where the stars of the evening sat with their parents.
The stationary, beautifully done by Bronwyn Hendrikz from HoniB Design, resembled the delicately detailed lace touches in the room with lacey-patterned laser cut paper name cards and menus at each table. These suited the white lacy doily place settings and table runners perfectly!
This romantic scene was completed with strings of lacy white bunting on silk ribbon stretching across the ceiling. It was the perfect final touch to bring everything together to create a magical and romantic setting for Melissa and Paul to celebrate their new marriage with their loved ones.
