Cape Town Wedding Planner Reflection: Melody & Chris’ Natural Wedding
As we catch up on all our blogging from the last two wedding seasons, one of our fondest weddings to look back on is Melody and Chris’ special day at Solms Delta in the Franschhoek winelands. The couple were such an absolute pleasure to work with, that it made the day all the more special for us and made us even more grateful to be Cape Town wedding planners. We’re very excited to share with you some of the pictures we took that day, but if you’d like to see the professional pics from the day, taken by WeLovePictures, please click here, or read on to find out more abou this special couple’s special day.
The venue that Melody and Chris chose to host their big day, Solms Delta couldn’t have been a more perfect setting for the relaxed and fun, yet still elegant and romantic idea they had in mind for their wedding. The venue had a beautiful and peaceful lake, covered in soft green lillies just steps away from the ceremony area which created the perfect backdrop for the couple’s ceremony.
The happy couple’s ceremony was set up at the lake, using wrought iron chairs and a matching wrought iron arch, covered in large peach and pink roses, purple hydrangeas, baby’s breath, greenery, and draped with soft cream pearls.
The flowers looked spectacular together and made quite a statement amongs all the greenery of the surrounding venue.
Even the sides of the arch were draped with white baby’s breath flowers and small white pearls for a delicate touch.
To bring all these pretty elements together and finish off the look of the ceremony area, we added rows of soft rose petal confetti down each side of the aisle.
Everything worked together beautifully to create a soft, delicate and natural look for Melody and Chris’ wedding ceremony.
After the ceremony, guests had a lot of fun, choosing their confetti cones and showering the newlweds with fresh cream rose petals.
For the reception, all guests were seated at one long, wooden table, with wooden chairs (we love this style of seating as all the guests get to sit together with the bride and groom which creates a more festive atmosphere and avoids the hierachy of who sits where at seperate tables).
The table was decorated wtih a cream damask table runner and several cream lanterns, surrounded by an arrangment of softl pink roses, purple hydrangeas and other white and green delights.
The arrangements were also then draped with pearls to give the whole table a pretty, unique and relaxed look.
The wedding was beautiful, the couple were amazing, the guests were fantastic and the night was tons of fun! Thank you to the lovely couple for letting us help you with your wedding and letting us be a part of your special day. All in a day’s work for a Cape Town wedding planner 😉
